The French company « Total » announces a discovery in the oil field at Timimoune

The French group Total has announced a new discovery in the field of hydrocarbons in Algeria and especially in the region of Timimoune; this discovery is the eighth of its kind since the beginning of the year, which supports current oil and gas reserves.
After having succeed, thanks to partnerships with important international groups, to reach and even exceed the level of reserves recorded during operations of nationalization in 1971, announced discoveries of this year let suppose a top number of discoveries, which was from 5 to 10 discoveries per year during the last five years and especially in the region of “Hassi Berkin” and “Orhoud”.
The French group, which activates in Algeria since 1946 has announced, in a statement, that this discovery is in the region of Timimoune at 500 km of “Hassi Rmel” in an area of prospection of which it possesses 63.75% against 25% of Sonatrach and 11.25 of the Spanish “Sibsa”.
the capacity of the discovered well is estimated at 235 thousand m3 per day, the same statement, published on the web site of the French group, has indicated that operations of prospection are continuing in the region of “Timimoune” and that the company currently activates in four main points which are the basin of El Hamra, which is a rich region on oil, “Ti Fouille” at Bechar and “Timimoune”, in addition to Rouroud Lakhrouf and Ourhoud through the Spanish company “Sibsa”
