Canadian and European help to set a report on non-oil export problems in September

Export support and promotion fund is still out of service

Well informed sources revealed to “El Khabar” that a report on defining the barriers and difficulties impeding promoting of non-oil exports is going to be set next September in collaboration between Ministry of Trade and experts from Canada, France and Germany.

In this context the sources added that European expert delegations have elaborated a spacemen experience on the regions of both Blida and Jijel in order to determine the problems that the Algerian exporters are blundering through, as well as elaborating a study on the trail exported goods take, which would facilitate locating the barriers that restrain the exported products in the export circle: either customs, seaport or else.

Otherwise, exporters say that export support and promotion fund which is still not in service since its establishment ten years ago, is not matching with their needs, except the symbolic support it offers for covering goods transporting fees.

Concerning this fund, our sources said that its donation remains limited to 500 million dinars of the total 10 billion dinars allocated for the support and promotion of exports. The Fund currently does not take into consideration other fees, like ensuring the task of improving product quality and preparation of studies about foreign markets, in addition to contributing to the burden of exporting enterprises participation in international fairs.
