That Bonn commitment to deepen the security and military cooperation with Algeria, pointing out that an agreement was signed after the visit of the General chief of staff Ahmed Gayed Salah last March. The agreement will allow the guaranteeing of the rehabilitation and the training of senior officers in the Army, especially to the grade chief staff, plus agreements to train police and gendarmes, adding that Germany confirmed its backing to Algeria in its efforts to adopt forces and mechanisms for peace keeping in Africa. The German ambassador made it clear, in a presser that was held in the embassy, that the cooperation in security and military fields was materialised through meetings that was held after visits that was made by senior leaders, especially the president Bouteflika, and the German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. The diplomat points out that the cooperation is focused on military training in high fields. In the same context, agreements that guarantee the deepening of cooperation between the police of the two countries were signed. The federal police sent experts to Algeria, and an expert assistant from the German federal police in the embassy to accompany and to supervise the process, was designated, adding that a German delegation under the presidency of the responsible of the federal police has visited Algeria and an agreement to train Algerian police was signed. The German ambassador insists on the existence of other measures later on, with the organisation of training sessions for police in the field of fighting drugs and the training on specialised dogs and scientific police. Germany, according to its ambassador, had equipped the African centre for anti terrorism studies, also it has guaranteed training sessions for the gendarmerie in the German gendarmeries headquarter.
