Security services listing Afghan Algerian combatants

To avoid warfare experience transfer

An Algerian security delegation made up of military experts headed to Bosnia in a mission to “list and verify the identity of Algerian combatants who participated in Bosnia war”, some of them have possibly joined al Qaeda; security sources told El Khabar.

The same source made clear that preliminary indicate that more than one thousand Algerians have participated in Bosnia war as volunteers; most of them reached Bosnia from Afghanistan and Europe. Our sources further mentioned that “these combatants enjoy a high combating expertise, given the fact that they fought along with Afghan Mujahideen with al Qaeda, led by Osama Ben Laden against Soviet armies invading Afghan territories.

Algerian security services move is meant to “avoid any future security slides after the constitution of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, notably that thousands of Afghan Algerians are expected to come back to Algeria after loss of nationality.

The plan elaborated by the task force being in Bosnia aims at limiting threats of those Algerians by their arrival, as they are experts in explosive handling and can transfer their experience, the fact that menaces Algerian domestic security.
