Its ships do not meet quay features
Sunday Jun 24 2007.

A transport ministry committee refused to authorize Maghreb Lines ships to be exploited in Algeria as they do not meet Algiers harbor key criteria, well informed sources told El Khabar.

The ministerial committee has decided to prevent Maghreb Lines starting use ships it rented to transport passengers from Algeria to France and Tunisia. The committee referred the report to transport Minister Mr. Mohamed Meghlaoui to pronounce the final decision regarding Maghreb Lines ships.

It is worth to note that the company got the necessary licenses to start booking for passengers but the committee’s report cooled off the company’s aspirations.

To recall, the company’s manager has already warned to withdraw from Maghreb Lines capital subsidiary of the National Company for Maritime Navigation because of licenses not delivered by state shareholdings council who decided, in the framework of that company privatization, to concede 49% of its capital to Go Fast Aigle Azure and 2% to his general manager as a natural person which means that the company owns 51% of Maghreb Lines capital.
