as he wondered about the usefulness of the new system of fundamental studies examination stating “it is unconceivable that a pupil who has 12/20 in the quarterly results during the school year has to repeat a year if he failed to pass the final exam. If you cannot provide classes for pupils, be brave and say it overtly”. Education minister tried to justify the matter pointing out: “our objective is to level the educational skills of pupils”, yet the president seemed not to be convinced adding “this system has to be changed as of the next school year, and the quarterly results are to be counted in the average to pas the exam”. During his visit to Setif, President Bouteflika inaugurated many projects namely national road n°5, the linking with natural gas of Mahdia region agglomerations, the inauguration of a new high school, in addition to a youth house in the same municipality. Moreover, President Bouteflika concluded his first day visit by taking stock of many university, health, and sport projects in Setif city center.
