General Manager of National Standards Institute stated that Industry and Investment Promotion ministry, in partnership with the Institute, are setting new legal texts that would oblige companies to get a certificate of international standards conformity for their products.
Mr Aissaoui, General Manager of National Standards Institute, has declared, on the margin of a meeting organized yesterday by French Commerce Chamber, that the new texts concern products of priority consumption, which could threaten citizens’ lives, including building materials and household, gas and electricity equipments.
On another side the regional director in charge of standardization and Promoting Quality, Abdellah Telaila, said that 300 companies have already clinched quality conformity certificates, 11 of which got an “ISO14001” environment management certificate, whereas the rest got an “ISO9001” quality management certificate. Mr. Abdellah Telaila added that the minister is studying the possibility to deliver an “ISO 220003” food safety certificate to five companies. The spokesman said, however, that the ministry allocated 500m dinars to assist companies to get ISO certificates.
