General Amar Amrani said, in his opening address to the meeting, that “this second session falls within 5+5 Defense Ministers 2004 Paris Declaration defining the effective activities to be undertaken in terms of cooperation in fields of common interest. General Armani stated that the meeting aims at setting a cooperation system in the air field, noting that “cooperation is becoming a sine qua non condition to coping with terrorism, which is becoming a threat to the international community especially when it makes use of civil aircrafts”, adding, “materializing cooperation between the ten states will allow narrowing down vulnerability to attacks through information exchange”, which is likely to insure peace and stability in the region. It is worth to mention that ten nations are taking part in the two-day meeting five from the southern bank namely Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania and Libya, and five from the northern bank, namely France, Spain, Italy, Malta, and Portugal. | ||||||||||||||||||
