Small parties criticise but finish by accepting the elections law bill
Thursday Jun 28 2007.
The president of National Republic Gathering party (RPR) and spokesperson for small parties’ alliance, Mr Abdelkader Merbah, expressed their refusal to elections law bill
considering it as an attempt form the government to “kill them politically,” preferring to call the Alliance for Preserving Democracy Parties as “emerging parties” rather than small or microscopic ones.
Mr. Merbah stated however, in a press conference held yesterday in the Press House (Algiers), that “the best suggestion we give to those who are practicing in the political and administrative violence, is to learn from past lessons, and withdraw the abusive bill,” in reference to a proposal which requires getting more than the national minimum rate (4%) in order to participate in the upcoming elections.
