Security Services have not been either able to discover them at all or discovered them very late, for kidnapping victim families still reluctant in terms of alerting about their disappearance. Mr. Ali Tounsi explained that families’ reluctance is due to their fears from kidnapper’s revenge that is why, added Mr Tounsi, kidnapping victim families prefer negotiating with kidnappers and pay the ransom. National Safety Director General stated however that kidnapping phenomenon is in a constant dropping in comparison with previous years, thanks to the procedures taken to cope with it, revealing, however, “we reached to discover all the criminals’ identities who perpetuated the crimes during the two last years.” On another side, the speaker said that security services are facing a big challenge actually against organized crime with its highly secret means that police services are getting prepared to face, through professionalizing security seniors training methods. In this regard Mrs Tounsi estimated that by 2009 all the regions of Algeria would reach full security coverage, adding that National Security Office is planning to build three scientific labs in Saharan regions. | ||||||||||||||||||
