The Government refuses setting a special bank for SMEs

Minister of Small and Medium Size Enterprises and Traditional Craft kept attached to the necessity of establishing a bank special for SMEs, which the government still not persuaded of; arguing that a number of companies consider that dealing with one bank is insufficient.

Mr Mustafa Ben Bada considered, on the fringe of an assessment meeting with regional directors, that the concerned bank would be specialized in technical, objective and scientific assessment of SMEs, since it would join expert in market economy data, “while ordinary banks are still incapable to make a perfect files study despite their quests to improve their dealings.”

The Minister revealed that his sector is elaborating, since 2005, a global study on market position and export difficulties joined with short, medium and long term suggestions. This study has been submitted to both the government and ministries of finance and commerce 8 months ago. Ben Bada added that the study waits to be scheduled in government council.

On another side, the Minister revealed that 32 professionals submitted rehabilitation requests to the National Agency of SMEs levelling along the last three months, before starting another operation next year.
