Tizi Ouzou Wali escaped hardly an assassination attempt

Tizi Ouzou prefect -Wali-, Mr. Houcine Mâzouz, has escaped an assassination attempt targeting his procession when he’s been heading to Ain Hammam municipality Thursday morning, the incident which caused the wound of a policeman. This attempt targeting an official with such a position is unprecedented in the region.
The criminal act has been undertaken through a remote controlled bomb by a mobile phone at around 8.30a.m.
Thursday when Tizi Ouzou Wali procession was passing by the suburbs of Ait Yahia located in Ain Hammam municipality where the prefect was to inaugurate a commemorative stele on the occasion of the Independence Day, however, the bomb exploded a few minutes after the wali’s car passed. Instead, the judiciary police 4X4 car in charge of the protection of the Wali. It resulted in the wounding of a policeman and the car has been seriously damaged.
