He wondered about the fact that the authorities and political class haven’t lifted a finger on the provocative stand of the French president Nicolas Sarkozy about the apology for colonial crimes. Professor Korso denounced the French Ambassador Bernard Bajolet statements before the attendance of the commemorative ceremony of the French Revolution Saturday reported by the French Press Agency APF, as he said, in terms of the conflict between the two countries on the historical heritage, that the historical complexities should not be a condition to deepening our relationships. As for the French president Nicolas Sarkozy statements in his 10 July visit to Algeria, the historian Korso denounced his “provocations during the press conference”. He further pointed out, “When President Sarkozy says he doesn’t belong to Algeria war generation, he tries to bear not the responsibility of the colonial state practices that have not been done individually but were a system practices mirrored through abominable mass massacres”. The same speaker mentioned the pragmatic approach of the French president as regards his country’s relations with Algeria, and noted that “Sarkozy provocation has raised no reaction at the political and associative levels.
