15 arms manufacturing and trafficking networks dismantled in 9 Wilayas

A woman leads arms trafficking network in Relizane

Different Safety services along Algeria counted, during 2007 first semester dismantling more than 15 arms trafficking and trading, networks in 9 Wilayas, 7 of which in east of the country, while Relizane (west of Algeria) security services have dismantled arms trading network led by a woman.

Relizane security services arrested a gang of 8 people led by a woman special in armed robberies and attacks as well as trading in different kind of weapons. After initial investigation the aforementioned gang has been appeared before state prosecutor who ordered to send them to custody prison while fulfilling the investigation.

Tnes court state prosecutor has also ordered to send a man to custody prison with unauthorized arms possession and trading, while Biskra (south east of Algeria) safety services discovered a workshop for traditional weapons manufacturing as well as to 59 traditional rifles.

Another illegal manufacturing and trading of semi pistols network have dismantled in Batna (east of Algeria). In the same region, precisely in Skikda, customs services aborted a dangerous attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions which were perfectly hided inside a “Peugeot” car coming on board the French “Rivera” ship from Marseille seaport.

Jijel (east of Algeria) gendarmerie services achieved during the first week of May to discover an unauthorized firearms repairing workshop. While Mssila wilaya gendarmerie services dismantled between March and April three arms and ammunitions manufacturing and trafficking networks.
