Mr. Chenine, in charge of implementing literacy programme, indicated that the council meeting scheduled next week with Education Minister is to tackle mechanisms of implementing the abovementioned decree. He further mentioned that the meeting has been scheduled following the stand-down of considerable number of university students from the national literacy programme after delay of their poor allocations. The same source said more than 20 thousands university students engaged in the literacy programme have not been paid yet since last October, pointing out that despite promises of Education Minister later February to regularize the payment arrears of literacy teachers, nothing has been done yet. To recall, there is about 500 literacy teachers nationwide, while the Ministry allocated 6.48 b AD to implement the national literacy plan until 2016. | ||||||||||||||||||
