Speaking yesterday to journalists, the Chairman of the judicial, administrative, and freedoms committee at the Parliament, Mr. Messaoud Chihoub indicated that the people concerned with the fine are those assisting foreigners entering to Algeria, and offering them shelter, adding that the amended law aims fighting the people trafficking networks, and protecting the Algerian borders, as several illnesses and epidemics are brought by these illegal migrants. Mr. Chihoub has alluded by the illegal migrants to the southern borders crossed by hundreds of migrants every year, adding that the illegal migrants will be involved in the organized crime phenomenon, particularly terrorism and drug smuggling. In this context, the judicial committee members have refused 15 amendments proposed by Parliament Representatives intending revising the foreigner residency law, while 15 have been approved. The committee has introduced 6 amendments, and 9 others introduced after been submitted to the Government, which has approved them. | ||||||||||||||||||
