National Gendarmerie seizes 40 hundredweights drugs in Bechar

The National Gendarmerie services are still investigating the case of 40 hundredweights drugs seized last Friday, at Tabelbala region in Bechar south west province.
This significant drugs quantity has been seized thanks to a checkpoint set by both National Gendarmerie, and Customs services at Tabelbala municipality, 400km southern Bechar, on board eight 4x4 cars have been surprised, a well-informed source told El Khabar.
According to the same source, the drug traffickers have opened fire on Gendarmerie and Customs services, and managed to escape abandoning 3 cars, one of them has been loaded with 4079kg of drugs, which likely had been introduced through the Moroccan border.
It is worth mentioning that this operation is among most important ones in south east Algeria, given the quantity of drugs seized.
