Al-Qaeda emir in the Maghreb Droukdel to be tried in absentia

The trial of the leader of Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in North Africa, named Abdelmalek Droukdel, altogether with 56 defendants involved in terrorism cases, including 40 now incarcerated, is scheduled for the next criminal session extending from Dec.27, to Feb.14.

The defendants face several charges, including belonging to terror group, committing premeditated murder and accomplice in murder.

So, the facts of this case back to 2004, following the arrest of a 36 years old terrorist in Blida central province. When subjected to cross examinations, he acknowledged committing numerous crimes.

He furnished the names of the elements of the group he pertained to; some of which have been arrested, while others are still wanted, including the national emir of Al-Qaeda, Droukdel, alias Abou Mousaab Abdelouadoud.
