However, several nationals in France have raised problems and difficulties facing them in Algiers Port each time they visit Algeria. Such an issue has been tackled when they met a Parliamentary delegation, yesterday, in Algiers Ports, together with the latter’s CEO. One of the nationals said round-trip ticket from France to Algeria varies between €300 and €500, which is enough to go to Tunisia and stay in a hotel there for a week. He further added that such a difference contributes of worsening Algeria’s status as tourist attraction country. Furthermore, tourists and nationals have called on authorities to set cameras around places where cars and luggage are searched, as to prevent security and customs agents from stealing, forcing passengers paying bribes, or any other offence. In turn, commercial director at the National Maritime Transport Company (ENTMV), Ikbal Cherifi, said the issue of reviewing ticket prices is not in the agenda, currently, because of financial troubles hitting ENTMV. He further added that a new maritime line is to be opened between Algiers and Barcelona, next April. | ||||||||||||||||||
