The platform included the Algerian diplomat Mohamed Ziane Hasseni, detained in France, as well as several Algerians serving prison everywhere in Europe. The platform, of which El Khabar got a copy, is still collecting signatures, noting that several lawyers, academics diplomats, journalists, human rights activists and civil rights associations have signed it. The platform has been initiated by a Tunisian human rights association called Al-Hurria (Freedom), in collaboration with Algerian Taraki Club, in charge of defending nationals in Europe. It has called on European judges getting together, in order to push European judicial services to release immediately and unconditionally all innocent prisoners, including Algerian diplomat Mohamed Hasseni, detained in France, Merouene Saadi, imprisoned in Ukraine since June 2005 and Ms. Hayet Saouli serving prison in Spain. However, the Chairman of Taraki Club, Zohir Serai, mentioned that Algerian nationals in Europe are easy targets, while being stuck fabricated charges, amid the absence of official protection which should be ensured by Algerian consulates and embassies abroad.” | ||||||||||||||||||
