50 Tunisians flee illegally to Tebessa
Tunisian authorities accuse them of smuggling cows to Algeria
Wednesday Dec 31 2008.
More than 50 Tunisian citizens have crossed the Tunisian borders heading to El Houidjbat municipality in Tebessa easternmost province, a well-informed source told El Khabar.
The Tunisian Borders Guards have tracked them down, and prevented them from getting back to their home country; while accusing them of smuggling cows to Algeria.
Furthermore, the Algerian Borders Guards, in turn, have stepped up control through rural regions, which could constitute crossing points to the Tunisian citizens, who attempted repeatedly to infiltrate the borders back to Tunisia, for fear of legal procedures by the Tunisian authorities.
