Orascom and Ever Team to construct research and electronic digitization centres

State-owned company Sonatrach boosts its development program

2 contracts have been signed between the Direction of Sonatrach’s downstream activities, Aval, and Orascom group, in addition to the French company Ever Team.

The first contract is meant to construct a centre of research and development benefiting the downstream activities of the state-owned oil company Sonatrach, while the second one has been reached with the French company, Ever Team, to launch a project of electronic management of documents.

The first project will be constructed by Orascom, at Elkarma municipality in Oran western province, as this latter won a tender for which 4 companies have competed. However, the contract related to the preliminary study of the project has been signed in Dec.13, 2008, with the French company GSO.

Both projects are in the framework of Sonatrach’s development program, which is with the aim of boosting development program related to the gas and oil production and environment protection.

The project of the electronic management of documents has been won by the French company Ever Team, and its realization lead-time is extending to 24 months. To recall this project is the extension of another project of documents digitization launched last 2007, thanks to it 500 millions pages have been scanned and 275300 plans have been conducted.
