Opening of the criminal session
Wednesday Jun 07 2006.

Algeria - The normal criminal session of the second trimester of 2006, will open the coming Saturday, and its activities will last until the 11th July.

Information coming from Algiers court revealed that 60 cases were scheduled during this session for 158 defendants. On the other hand, juridical sources unveiled to El Khabar that the referring of El Khlifa case to accusation chamber in Blida court has been scheduled for 12 June.

The cases scheduled for this session, according to a statement issued by Algiers court, are related to murders, rape and money theft, bank notes faking, the wastage of public money and the forming of outlaw gangs. These cases are affiliated to the general law only, considering the absence of the terrorism cases that were annulled since the vote on the chart for peace national reconciliation in September 2005.

concerning this juridical sources, which are well infirmed on the dossier, said to El Khlifa, that this session will not include terrorism cases despite the fact that many prisoners who normally benefited from the measures of the chart are not being subjected to theses measures yet, and these persons are persons who were involved in public bomb explosions, rape and mass massacres. Our sources declared that the annulations of the terrorism related matters from this criminal session is considered as the continuity in the spontaneously confirmed measures after the referendum on the chart, where cases in police and gendarmerie stations which were of terrorism nature have been already frozen.
