Nokia : Algeria and Egypt are among the major markets

Mr Fadi Rouhani, the regional director of the leading brand in the mobile phone industry Nokia, considered Algerian and Egyptian markets as two of the biggest and the most important markets in communications field in the region

Pointing out that these two markets have huge reception capabilities and fast growth pace for the time being. He said that Nokia is willing to enlarge its investments in Algeria in parallel with the opening of its office for a rapprochement from the customer, where it attracted numerous branches and specialised companies to Algeria.

Fadi Rouhani made it clear to El Khabar that Algeria is amongst the immerging markets, and it is the centre of foreign investor interest, adding that the opening of the bureau that will take place shortly has the aim of the rapprochement from the customer and the monitoring of his tendency and his tests plus the market tendency. The same responsible points out that Nokia group has attracted many specialised companies as a signal of their huge interest in the market like Gray, GFK, and other companies that are specialised in communications sector, adding that there is a will for direct investment. Fadi Rouhani remarked the growth rates that have been registered in Algeria unveiled huge reception capabilities and the growth of the demand, adding that this year the evaluations of Nokia selling growth will be revisited in the region including Algeria.

It is worth to be noticed that Nokia achieved selling of more than 1, 2 million mobile phones in 2005, and expect that it will achieve a higher number this year.. On this background, this international group started a special project for Algeria that include the creation of a specialised centre in services field after the selling and maintenance , this comes after the company restructured and reorganised itself. The decision of the opening of Algeria’s bureau is because of the remarkable capacities where they couldn’t manage the bureau from its regional headquarter in morocco.

Algeria with more than 16, 5 millions subscriptions, which means it is in the lead of the Arab world in subscriptions field, provides big chances for the European partners that hold more than 30% of the market.
