This complain was about the inability of national companies to export sugar towards European countries, and it is (the motion) concerning protection measures adopted by the European party despite the fact that the partnership agreement has been in force from last September. The same responsible has explained that the problem is the high customs duties that are imposed by European countries on the Algerian sugar, while there are no duties imposed on this product when it is being imported from these European countries under the quotas agreement, because the duties would be cancelled in accordance with decrees adopted within the partnership agreement. The same responsible has considered that the committee for evaluation can, according to its duties and its competence, revise this clause with the European countries within the context of reforms that the committee can manage, pointing out that the matter that is related to sugar export towards European nations was not discussed properly. And in order to perform amendments, the private company Cevital has asked to open an internal discussion about this matter between operators and responsibles of this sector and with national companies. It has exposed many problems of sector’s operators. The private company Cevital, like European countries, and for the time being, is exporting towards many neighbour countries as Tunisia, Morocco and Libya, and also towards European countries. S.
