The American specialized company, Kellogg Brown & Root, a unit of the Halliburton company which provides military support services will rehabilitate the complex, set up in the 70’s and the 80’s by the participation of the American companies. The complex has a 1.8 billion cubic meters production capacity per year. The operation aimed at making the complex’s facilities more secure to be in conformity with the development of the production capacity, especially as Algeria is currently trying to diversify its markets for natural gas. It also wants to raise its gas exportation capacity, which does not exceed 40 % of hydrocarbon exports’ value.
