Fishy dealings in Bab el Oued hospital

El Khabar has known from responsible services that the Health ministry has sent central inspectors to the hospital of Bab El Oued of the capital after a copy of a report of the Finances General Inspection which has revealed many infractions during public transactions.

The report of the inspection of Finances on the management of the Teaching hospital of Bab El Oued “former Maillot” has revealed many infractions and violations during public transactions of a value exceeding billion dinars and in foreign currencies.

The latest report of the Inspection has included transactions of this teaching hospital during 2000, 2001 and 2002 but it was not followed.

The report of which El Khabar has got a copy explains in detail all suspected transactions between the hospital and many private companies which distribute medical and alimentary products even equipments.

Among these transactions there is the acquisition of an apparatus of sonogram in addition to equipments concerning the surgery and scanners. This report has included the separation between the consumption and the stockade, some issues especially in the drudgery of the hospital where a lack of surveillance has been discovered, the hospital direction has announced a tender to buy equipments of fluoroscopy. The group of the General Inspection of Finances has expressed some reserves on many transactions qualified of illegal and not complying with the public transactions standards.
