We have presented a proposal to manage water’s system in three Algerian wilayas

The delegated director of the international company of waters SAUR, Mr. Jean Pierre Hardi, HAS declared that his company has put its candidacy to participate in a bid that is related to the management by entrustment of the following three wilayas: Constantine, Oran and Annaba.

According to a statement made by the minister of Water Resources, Abdelmalek Sellal, this bid is going to be announced in the beginning of June 2006. The same responsible has pointed out that SAUR group is interested, too, in the management by entrustment of 13 other wilayas that will be announced shortly in a new bid from the ministry of Water Resources.

And according to Mr.Jean Pierre Hardy, these announced projects will see a fierce competition from foreign companies, especially the management by entrustment of water in the big wilayas. In relation to these projects, 12 companies are competing to secure the deal of the three wilayas, amongst them SUEZ and SAUR, in addition to Andion De Grémont (Suez’s branch) and Marseilles Water alongside with Spanish companies.

SAUR group is active in Algeria for 15 years, and was called from the International Bank, in 1991, to start its activity in Algeria, and this to accomplish a diagnostic study about the state of the Water sector in Algeria, in collaboration with the National Centre of Treatment of Construction sector related Information. This study was accomplished for the benefits of the national company for water decontamination. A part from this study, the same group has accomplished a financial study of water prices that were in use.
