That there are five European companies and others from Middle East which are carrying contacts with responsibles of the sector in addition to a study of the market of national insurances in order to create insurance companies of people. Messaoudi has announced that the insurance sector is still in regression in spite of the recorded improvement during the first term of this year. He has indicated during a meeting, that he has animated yesterday in the seat of the Council to show the results of the sector of the insurances of the first quarter of the current year, that the sales turnover of the sector during the same period last year has reached 11.7 billion of dinars without the results recorded by the international company of insurance and reinsurance “Matek”, what represents an improvement of 2.4%. The unjustified regression of the sector coincides with the announcement of great projects of investments within the framework of the economic program of revival and projects which require a total insurance in addition to the increase in the level of national saving which has reached a positive level. Mr. Abdelmadjid Messaoudi has attributed the decrease of the results of the sector of the insurances in first term of this year to the regression of the results recorded in the transport sector (- 23%) because of the fall of granting of the insurances on air transport, the share of this sector dropped by 11% to 8% this year, in addition to the regression of the results of the insurances on the agricultural sector (- 38%) after the restructuration of the activities related to the agricultural risks. The public companies always dominate the national market of the insurances with a share exceeding the 86% when to the rest goes to the private insurance companies especially the new ones. In addition, the first responsible of the National Council of Insurances has indicated the new provisions of the law on the new insurances which will allow a greater liberalization of the sector, this law came into effect since last March while waiting for the drafting of texts of application relating to it and to form an authority of follow up and monitoring of the sector whose chief will be appointed by the President of the Republic.
