After tensions caused by his declarations on the creation of the federation of the Sahara Notable; he has sent his Minister of Interior yesterday, Saleh Radjab Elmismari, in Algeria two months after the meeting of his cousin Ahmed Kadhaf Eddam with the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The General Secretary of the Popular Commission of Libyan Public Safety (Minister of Interior) Saleh Radjab Elmismari has met yesterday the Algerian Minister of Interior Nourrédine Yazid Zerhouni and the General Manager of national Security, Ali Tounsi, and with responsibles of the military institution whose names were not cited. He was accompanied by a delegation which has mainly discussed with the Algerian part of the questions of security. Well informed sources have indicated that the visit also comprised a political side expressed by the will of El Kadhafi to dissipate the fog off the relations which has increased after his call to the Sahara, Tuareg of Mali, of Niger and Algeria to be united within the framework of a federation to fight “the projection of the Christian occident towards the Sahara”. Algeria was discontented with that because it has regarded it as “encouraging the Tuareg to found a State”, but it has preferred not to answer the Libyan leader.

A high responsible has commented the declaration of the leader: “El Kadhafi has trespassed the red line at Timbuktu and we have shown him our discontent ... but we have avoided a spectacular answer in order to not open a new front of tension in the Arab Maghreb area”, an allusion to the disagreement between Algeria and Morocco and its consequences on the situation in the region.
