A family of a French national sentenced to prisoners’ slang charged with criminal association making up and weapons acquisition strives to allow his to take advantage from national reconciliation provisions relying

On the mediation endeavour to be played by the French and the Algerian governments to get its release. The family’s ground to achieve its aim is his non involvement in any activity excluded from Peace and Reconciliation Charter. He was arrested during the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) called political strike in May 1991.

Didier Guyan was arrested in Tiaret Criminal Court and was sentenced to death in 1992, the French man daughter who embraced Islam in his country, told El Khabar in a phone call that “all the detainees including my father were proved innocent by virtue of a first level tribunal verdict but after the prosecutor’s appeal and owing to undetermined political pressure he was sentenced to prison” One year after Guyan imprisonment he benefited from a presidential pardon, and was then sentenced to prisoners’ slang. His daughter and wife complain because he was excluded from the civil concord procedures in 1999, and wonder about his exclusion from the reconciliation measures.

Note recalling that the Charter on Peace and National Reconciliation’ provisions do not exclude the alleged terrorists among foreign detainees. The lawyers convene that foreigners’ exclusion is considered as a juridical loophole.
