An Australian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Algeria is expected to define a program of exchange in different fields. Senate President Abdelkader Bensalah received yesterday members of the Australian parliamentary delegation visiting Algeria at the invitation of the Algerian Parliament (APN). The delegation, according to the Senate communiqué, is headed by Queensland representative Mr. Warren Inch. During the meeting have been tackled aspects of cooperation between Algeria and Australia, available means to develop it, exchanging information as well as finding new fields of cooperation in connection with irrigation and agriculture, public works, technologies and education and scientific research. Mr. Bensalah also insisted on examining cooperation opportunities likely to be generated between parliaments of both countries in the future. Furthermore, both chambers open this morning their autumn session works. 11 law texts about draft laws and presidential ordinances are scheduled. Prime Minister Mr. Abdelaziz Belkhadem, Senate president Mr. Amar Saidani and Parliament President Mr. Abdelkader Bensalah are attending the opening of the session. Texts submitted to the council are about justice, finance, agriculture and draft laws including 2007 finance law.
