The bulletin of the Customs Statistics National Centre read that USA has exported from Algeria the value of $ 922 million in July, a 65% increase compared to last year’s same period. Concerning Algeria’s imports, France still keeps its traditional position with an imports value of $ 380 million, a 6% decrease. Italy ranks second with $153 million. China increased its imports to $ 137 million. An increase of 25 % compared to last year’s. Algeria’s imports include mainly equipments and production machines as well as food. Chinese imports are made up of clothing items, industrialised and electronic products and electrical household appliances. Oil and natural gas are the most important Algerian exports abroad. They represent 97 % of the country’s sources of foreign currency. The 2007 budget bill allocates 2020 billion dinars for equipments as an equivalent of $ 27.5 billion. It will be the first time the budget is financed by national resources without resorting indebtedness to foreign countries. That reflects the well being of the country’s finances.
