Development Director of French “Eco Emballage” Enterprise Mr. Bertrand Baya affirmed that Algeria could save, at least, 300 million Euros annually through recycling and reusing all consumption products.




On the side of his visit with two representatives of Environment and Country Planning Ministry to “Tonic Complex”, he told El Khabar that France could exceed 300 million Euros as 95% of the glass produced in France is recycled and reused.

The population must be convinced of recycling because it is the future of the country. The authorities must provide the mechanisms likely to help collecting the material and giving the necessary time to take in charge the children so that the recycling could become something obvious in 20 years time. This is a long term work, the Director underscored.

“Eco Emballage” is a pioneer in the field of recycling in France. It works with all the French municipalities to develop the recycling. It recycles 30million tons of several material such as paper, plastic and aluminium. The Director of the French Enterprise commended the agreement signed by Tonic Enterprise and the Ministries of Environment and Education. The agreement provides for putting recycling dustbins in 19 schools in Algiers with the view of extending the operation to reach 300 schools. This is long term work and the way to establish the culture of recycling.

The representatives of the French Enterprise and some executives of the Ministry of Environment and Country Planning and the German GTZ Enterprise paid a visit to the yesterday to Tonic Complex for recycling paper as part of cooperation agreed on between them and the Ministry in order to give a new impetus to the field. The French were impressed by the factories owned by Tonic. They stressed on then necessity to continue on recycling to go towards a better economy. France for instance 40% of its used paper is recycled.
