The case “Brown & Root Condor Company”

35 people before the Republic’s Prosecutor of Bir Mourad Rais

Reliable judicial sources told yesterday that the Republic’s Prosecutor at Bir Mourad Rais Court in Algiers heard to 35 people as part of the judicial investigation opened on the president’s orders

The investigation is carried out about “Brown & Root Condor” Company, an Algerian and American joint venture in charge of achieving many projects in Algeria. The people who were heard by the prosecutor were witnesses including executives from Sonatrach Company and officials from “Brown & Root Condor” Company.

There will be more people to be heard such as officials from the National Defence Ministry and National Companies which dealt with the aforementioned Company, the same sources confirmed. Brown & Root Condor Company achieved many projects, among which are military hospitals in Blida, Constantine and Oran. Many other foreign Subcontracting Companies dealing with Brown and Root Condor Company such as two Egyptian Companies and another Turkish Company will be heard by the Prosecutor.

The court received an accurate file about the Company and its dealings. The file included the accountability court which unveiled that the Company concluded deals violating the public deals law. In the same context, the source added that the Minister delegated to National Defence Minister Mr. Abdelmalek Guenaizia received an accountability Court report. That’s why he had to suspend some of his Ministry officials and senior officers.
