It is a body which gathers ministers of countries producing and consuming energy. It aims at establishing a comprehensive dialogue on issues relating to the energy security and the relation between the different sources of energy, the environment and the economic development. On the basis of this election Algeria will participate, for the first time, in the 11th session debates of the International Energy Forum executive council. The session is due to be held in the head office of the forum secretariat in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The meeting will mainly address the pending issues of the forum’s interior management and a year’s plan of action. It coincides with the current oil prices fluctuations and the pressures put by industrialized countries on exporting countries in order to increase the supply and lower the prices, reliable sources in the Energy and Mines Ministry said.
