The deputies considered that as an infringement of human dignity and life right. They opened yesterday a communiqué for the citizens’ signatures and talked about the harassment to which the Tunisian women have been exposed recently, particularly during the month of Ramadan because of wearing the Islamic veil. The issue has reached the extent of preventing girl pupils and students from wearing it at schools. This is considered as violation even of the Tunisian law itself. In another context, the communiqué’s signatories from deputies showed their disposal to have “a stand of support with political and opinion prisoners and their families who have already started a sit in and a hunger strike this week to let their voice be heard by the human conscience.” The communiqué stressed the fact that “It is not permissible to accept the restraint of Dr. Monsef El Marzouki right’s activity. The Doctor in question is going through hard conditions in his house because he had called to peaceful resistance against the authoritarian regime in Tunisia. | ||||||||||||||||||
