A bill on work and trade activity in holidays and religious feasts is to be submitted to the government council’s approval and is expected to come into force by 2007, a trade ministry official source revealed.




Craftsmen and traders general union called trade ministry services to consider closing markets and stores phenomenon during official and religious feasts as the case was during the six last years, underscoring that the ministry bares the responsibility.

Major cities inhabitants suffer from this phenomenon’s repercussions, as Algiers seemed to undergo an economic embargo.

Taking cognizance of this preoccupation, El Khabar submitted it to trade ministry officials who stressed the fact that a bill regulating commercial activity on the national and religious day-offs as well as on official holidays will be on the agenda of the forthcoming government council meetings and is expected to come into force by the coming New Year.
