The executives of the Company which has dedicated more than $520 million to achieve the project indicated that the project works, which started in October 2005, has allocated an amount of $128.4 million with an initial time limit of 20months and a number reaching for the time being 550 workers and expected to increase at the start to production. The cement complex is expected to produce 2.5 million tons a year. Currently it has created 2680 direct and indirect jobs expected to go up to 3500 jobs, among which are destined to Egyptians by next January. As soon as the production starts 8000 direct and indirect jobs are to be created. Egyptian Orascom and its two subsidiaries in Mssila and Mascara have 30% of Algeria’s production of grey cement, i.e. 6 million tons yearly. Orascom has in fact monopolised the white cement production by its new complex. | ||||||||||||||||||
