The US delegation will meet with Algerian MPs from the National popular assembly. The delegation, during this visit that is considered as en extension to the cooperation between parliaments of Algeria and America, will work on the accomplishment of dossiers’ studies that have relation with Algeria and to write reports on it, especially political and economic related matters. According to a statement issued by the American conference for legislations assemblies, which is considered as the organisation which monitor the programme of cooperation with Algeria and which is financed by the American foreign ministry. The American delegation comprises 30 deputies and law experts. Its visit is to enhance the legislative power capabilities of Algeria in project law making and bills related to tasks that are, constitutionally, within its power. All this is in the context of the programme consecrated to the Arab Maghreb and the Middle-East. The presence of the American deputies in Algeria between 27 and 30 May, according to the same statement, is the second chance for discussions with the Algerian assembly, after the one which took place last January. According to parliamentary sources which talked to El Khabar, the most important points of the cooperation in the session that will be opened by the president of the Algerian assembly Amar Saidani will be consecrated to topics on the role of the legislator and the relationships between the deputy and the electorates. The discussion will focus, also, on the parliamentarian activity and its relation with the civilian society and syndicates and also its relation with public and private media. Our sources added that the meeting between American deputies and their Algerian counterparts will be on ways of communication with electorates before and after elections and the work with representative offices throughout the country. The American foreign ministry has made this programme, which will last till 2007 under the supervision of the American conference for legislations assemblies and under the presidency of Gerimy Midows. In the first conference that took place last January, that was attended by senior officers from the congress, debated the Algerian experience in fighting terrorism, and also the Algerian experience in democracy was discussed.
