Sonatrach ratifies a partnership agreement with the Japanese complex “Iatchi Itouchou”

1.2 billion Of dollars to insure the petrochemical industrial area

Mr. Ali Belfatmi, Manger of the complex of propane gas “G B 2 Z”, for Sonatrach, and “Mitsotochi Nakamora” and “Massahiro Imaie”, for the Japanese complex “Iatchi Itouchou”, have ratified, in the centre of “El Hayat” of the town n5 at Ain Elbita at Oran.

A contract of insurance and improvement of production quality of the precited complex, the period of its achievement has been fixed to 24 months with a financial envelop of 100 million of dollars. This project, win by the Japanese company, follows events which have happened in the gas complex of “G B 2 Z” between 2003 and 2004 which are explosions which have caused important material losses. The complex “Iatchi Itouchou” will take in charge the assembly of production materials in conformity with international standards and add apparatuses in order to guarantee the production quality and support it, in addition to the repair of metallic structures and develop the surveillance system and security services inside production unities in order to guarantee the security of workers and company.

Mr. Mohamed Meziane, General Manager of the complex Sonatrach, has indicated that the complex will stop its activity for four months in 2007 and will start again in 2008. He has indicated that Sonatrach has consecrated a financial envelop exceeding 1.2 billions of dollars in order to implement a security plan in its complexes from 2006 to 2010.
