Soltani’s declarations are unclear

Boudjemaa Ghachir, President of Algerian League of Human Rights, told El Khabar it was not possible to take legal actions concerning the declarations of the Chief of the party “Society for Peace Movement”, Abudjerra Soltani, about corruption. He has attributed that to their ambiguity.

The President of the Algerian League of Human Rights, Boudjemâa Ghachir, has indicated to El Khabar that Abudjerra Soltani has to clarify his declarations, considering that they are ambiguous and this has make of the decision very difficult “if he has said that he is informed of corruption files examined by the Justice, this avoid lawsuits, but if he says that he has files about corruption in Algeria this means that he is obliged to give it to Justice otherwise the law will be applied on him”. He has considered that the press declarations on the subject are not enough to reach any conclusion.

The same person has also indicated that the article 47 of the law 0106 of February 20, 2006, on the fight and prevention of corruption, condemns the hide of information concerning it, which means that the Chief of party is asked to give all what he has of information to Justice.

He has also to inform the General Prosecution, the Justice ministry has also the prerogative to take legal actions in virtue of the article 30 of the law of penal proceedings, and he can do it, start the lawsuits or inform the concerned party.
