Shami said, at the first session of the Algerian Italian businessmen council, that it is possible to develop the bilateral relationships to cover sectors other the energetic ones, meanwhile we can benefit from the Italian experience in the small and medium companies. This first session comes after the signature of understanding memorandum the end of 2005 between the commerce and industry chambers of the two countries. In this session, 20 Italian businessmen are participating under the lead of Mrini Sergio, the president of the Arab-Italian chamber of commerce and industry, plus an Italian association of businessmen. On the other hand, Mr Marini points out that he is not happy with the current situation of the economic and commercial relationships between Algeria and Italy, which should be promoted to the level of the political relationships. He points out, too, that Italian businessmen want to buy an important part of the public companies that are presented for privatisation, especially the ones that are working in the light industries and industrialised materials. He added that this interest is part of a bigger strategy adopted by the Italian companies to enlarge its market throughout the world starting from the Mediterranean. On his part, the ambassador of Italy in Algeria Giovan Batista Verderame called investors of his county to take their responsibility through the economical materialisation of the important political relationships between the two countries.
