Khalil’s statement comes as a riposte to deep concern of the American company Anadarko which spoke of its discord between Sonatrach about ambiguity regarding law’s clauses. During third congress of “oil wells assessments” held yesterday in Sheraton hotel (Algiers) in cooperation with Sonatrach and Schlumberger; Mines and Energy Minister, Chakib Khalil, set aside a misunderstanding or a conflict with American company demonstrating his speech with Anadarko’s last announcement printed to inform its administrative council members of the decree. This last will be enforced by Sonatrach that is dedicating over 100 million dollar to pay back taxes imposed on extraordinary gains next March considering Anadarko’s decision a positive step. According to law, Sonatrach is responsible of collecting taxes imposed on extraordinary gains as it is the lonely fiscal agent designate, pointed out Mr Khalil and thus, Sonatrach is to collect over 600 million dollar as extraordinary gains taxes in current year, whereas 1 billion dollar is expected next year. Chief executer of Sonatrach Mr. Mohamed Meziane made a sign “our programmes concerning development within next years are very important and our investments in outlet field are having the lion’s share, we are multiplicating prospect ion efforts and developing new fields as well as better exploiting old ones”.
