The Chief-Executive Officer of National Company for Commercial Cars (SNVI), Mr Mokhtar Chahboub, told El-Khabar that advanced negotiations were being held with Czech Company to buy a share of fusing aluminium unity, implying it was possible to achieve this partnership within the current year.




The national company in coordination with an Algerian engineering department is about to finish considering the file as regard branching the firm to be discussed with the social partner. The the file is then to be presented to investment promotion and Participations Ministry.

Asked whether the SNVI had achieved successful results in 2006, Mr Chahboub said “We were able to achieve positive results, not far from our expectations. The turnover was estimated at 17 5 billion dinars in 2006 against 19 billion dinars in 2005, that is 92%, while the value added has achieved 4, 5 billon dinars with an average of 88%., (CEO) replied.

To Al-Khabar question whether the company would be selected among strategic firms not to be privatized, the CEO affirmed his company is making huge efforts looking for appropriate partners that are vital and necessary, especially if the partners are famous worldwide in buses and trucks industry, in addition to specialists in production of cars chassis and fusing. The partnership operation is becoming alluring after the embodiment of branching project in relation to national companies, to encourage foreign partners.

Partnership projects that have succeeded so far, as German Company “Z F” for gear box manufacture, and the partnership with the French “ BTK” for cars chassis industry, which started early March, in the factory of Tiaret (west of Algiers). As regard marketing, it will be achieved through the company’s distributing network. Concerning the new strategy attributed to the national firm, the priorities are given to develop mechanical branch and cars through setting a commission at the company’s level to supervise the work.
