Economy and Technology German Minister in Algeria

Economy and Technology German Minister, Michael Glos, arrived in Algiers, yesterday, with a 50-member delegation, representing various German companies in order to consider cooperation and investment between the two countries.

The visit aims to enrich bilateral relations between Algeria and Germany especially in energy field, as part of Berlin’s strategy to diversify its resources in energy, natural gas chiefly, in order to guarantee other suppliers than Russia, the main gas supplier of Germany now. A meeting is expected today between Participations and Investment Promotion Ministry, Hamid Temmar, and Technology and Economy German Federal Minister, Michael Glos, at the 3rd Algerian-German Business Forum.

The delegation is expected to meet President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem beside some of Government staff members, among whom Trade Minister, Hachemi Djaaboub, Public Works Minister, Omar Ghul, and the two secretary generals of both Mines and Energy Ministry and transport Ministry. German delegation will also attend Algerian and German businessmen forum meeting.

In the same context Algerian Head of Commerce and Industry Chamber revealed that seminar works regarding Algerian-German investment is to be held next July, in the German capital, Berlin, to look for cooperation opportunities, chiefly as concern Germen companies getting deals in Algeria. 100 billion dollars projects.
