Stretching from the Western borders to Eastern ones all along 1216 Kilometres, to which a 100% internal financing estimated at 800 billion Dinars budget has been allocated. President Bouteflika gave yesterday works kick-start of East-West highway, the “Century Project” as referred to by public works minister given its hugeness. The project’s works launched operationally in some parts of the highway are witnessing significant breakthroughs, public works minister Mr. Amar Ghoul pointed out. The project is of a paramount importance as it falls within the 7000 kilometres Great Maghreban Project initiated by Arab Maghreban Union States. The project is likely to allow the creation of about 100.000 jobs, contribute to territorial equilibrium and reduce road accidents, as stressed by public works minister. Mr. Ghoul announced the “creation of a workshop meant to provide jobs to the Algerian jobless manpower”, he further stated: “the projects provide the opportunity to recruit thousands of skilled workers”. Noteworthy that the project is likely to create 200 thousand jobs of which 70% will be occupied by Algerian work force. | ||||||||||||||||||
