Like Cetelem which is affiliated to the national bank of Paris PNB Paribas in parallel with the preparation of a medium-term programme to open 80 agencies by 2008 after the number of its agencies reached 19. The chiefs of the bank don’t hide their high interest in the opening of the capital of the Algerian popular credit and their intentions to have this deal that will afford a complete net that comprises 170 agencies across the national territory. Mr Alex Didier the vice general director of companies and privates in Société Général bank and Jowel Jary, the general director of Société Générale Algeria, organised, yesterday, in the Sofitel hotel a presser in which they have exposed the programme of the French bank in Algeria and its projects in medium and long terms. Chiefs of the French bank unveiled new projects like the agreement demand that was presented to Bank of Algeria to establish a branch specialised in consumptions credits. Didier Alex, in his speech about the motives that pushed the French bank to open a branch in Algeria, points out that “the presence of the bank in Algeria is because of the huge capabilities and opportunities that exist in Algeria” adding “the bank has no intention or will to develop in exterior commerce fields, but to make of the Algeria branch a bank with international standards, which means a bank with complete services. The bank focuses in its dealing on privates and companies in the same time, be it for the small, medium or big companies, but the bank deals too with the professionals. In the same context, Alex unveiled that 550 persons were employed and benefited from 700 hours training, knowing that the bank has opened a centre for training in Algeria, remarking that the number of employees will increase to 650 graduated students. The French responsible counted the activities that the bank would focus on, like consumptions credits, cars loans, travel loans, and credits for students, pointing out that the most important are the specialised loans especially consumption ones.
