Annaba : Great importance project delays

A delay is recorded in the realization pace of projects of great national importance as is the case with Rabah Bitat international airport air station whose works are undertaken by the Egyptian company “Arab Contractors”, East-West highway, that part of it linking Annaba and Skikda, as well as other major projects in health sector.

In his visit together with elected officials to some project sites, Annaba wali said the delay is owed to the lack of coordination between administrative department on one side and technical ones on the other. The prefect criticized the great delay recorded in Airport expansion project that is to allow matching international criteria, to which 474 million dinars have been earmarked and was due to be delivered by last year end.

East-West highway project has not been spared from the great delay in its 9 kilometres part linking Skikda and Annaba provinces, especially that authorities are keen on the full project delivery in December 2008.

On another side, a delay is reported in the realisation of al-Hadjar Hospital as well as the polyclinique. Moreover, project managers do not bother with the badly need of health care services in the daily life of the region’s citizens.
