She added that her visit was to reassure that the recent operations will not alter British approach on the situation in Algeria. Mrs. Maitland made clear that her visit aims first at expressing Britain’s full solidarity with Algeria after the terrorist attacks as well as to underscore Britain’s full disposition to support Algeria in terms of counter terrorism, as she considers the attacks as isolated and cannot spare any country in the world, thus Britain is poised to cooperate with Algeria in this field in addition to legal and judiciary matters. Mrs. Maitland unveiled that the two parties tackled the issue of enlarging English language use through the setting up of an institute and the generalization of its use to many organs and institutions. The same official further added that the British government, after the conclusion of the extradition agreement, asked its Algerian counterpart to provide a detailed draft precising motives of the extradition request of Abdelmoumen Rafik Khalifa, while the British Ambassador in Algeria said that the British parliament has adopted the extradition agreement concluded between the two parties and thus it comes into force. | ||||||||||||||||||
